Ready for an easy and healthy activity to do with the kids this summer? Put on some sunblock and start at the Chamber of Commerce office (104 Prather) for a walk around our charming downtown!
At the Chamber office you can grab a map(s) and start reading the story, each stop on the map is the next page of the story that you and your kids can read together. If your child brings in the finished map to the library (during open hours) they can get a prize!
This year, to go with our space theme, our book is Peguinaut! by Marcie Colleen. Last year we had numerous families participate and enjoy the storywalk, we hope you get to experience it this summer too!
Everyone is welcome to join us, rain or shine, Friday, June 7th for our Astro Family Night! The Kansas Astronomical Observers will be here with a telescope with a special lens to view the sun and interactive space activities for everyone, young and old, to learn more about space! Smith Family Mortuaries will be at the Mulvane Public Library to discuss different aspects of funeral planning including costs and options for earthly remains. They will also discuss green burial trends and what options are here in Kansas. While this is a topic that some people try to shy away from, it is important to have a plan in place to help lessen the burden for your grieving loved ones left behind. This program will be an excellent opportunity to have your questions answered by professionals who work with families on these topics regularly.
