5 Senses: Sight
Happy Wednesday, friends! Hope you are all having a great week so far!
Don’t forget — If you missed Story Time Live this week, you can still go back and watch it here: https://www.facebook.com/MulvanePublicLibrary/videos/754793888641227
The Sense of Sight and the Letter “C”
Books:
Today’s theme was the Sense of Sight! We read the books: Bear Sees Colors by Karma Wilson and They All Saw A Cat by Brendan Wenzel. We talked about the different things that you can see in the world – colors, shapes, faces, etc. We also talked about how some people can’t see and how that is called being blind. (We also referenced back to last week and talked about how people who can’t hear are deaf).
Other books to read about Sight: Baby Bear Sees Blue by Ashley Wolff and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin, Jr. and Eric Carle.
Songs:
This is Me
This is me
From my head to my toes
I have two eyes and a little nose
I can clap my hands
And stomp my feet
From my head to my toes
I’m pretty neat
(To the tune of “The Bear Went Over the Mountain”)
My eyes are made for seeing
My eyes are made for seeing
My eyes are made for seeing
So I can see my world
Activities:
We talked about the Letter “C” this week. We discussed what it looks like, how to draw it, what sounds it makes, and words that start with it. Here are some activities to continue the learning about the Letter C:
*Play with cars
*Color with crayons
*Walk like a crab, crawl like a caterpillar, meow like a cat, slither like a cobra
*Bake cookies together
*Play with chalk
*Have a car wash (or do it on a smaller scale and let your child wash their own toy cars)
