Elephant Story Time
It’s officially Summer Reading Program time! Today is the first day of an amazing, animal-filled, fun-packed summer! If you don’t know about our Summer Reading Program, head over to this page on our website: https://mulvane.scklslibrary.info/summer-reading-2021-tails-tales/
Today we talked and sang about Elephants! We read the books: Strictly No Elephants by Lisa Mantchev and Elephant’s Story by Tracey Campbell Pearson.
We sang songs about elephants too!
An Elephant Goes
An elephant goes like this and that,
(walk with arms in front like a trunk)
He’s oh so big,
(raise arms up)
And he’s oh so fat.
(spread arms out to side)
He has no fingers,
(wiggle fingers)
He has no toes,
(shake feet)
But goodness gracious, What a Nose!
(wave arms around like a trunk)
If You’re an Elephant and You Know It
If you’re an elephant and you know it, stomp your feet.
If you’re an elephant and you know it, stomp your feet.
If you’re an elephant and you know it, and you really want to show it,
If you’re an elephant and you know it, stomp your feet.
If you’re a monkey and you know it, jump up and down.
If you’re a crocodile and you know it, snap your jaws.
If you’re a lion and you know it, give a roar.
Don’t forget to stop by the library each week to pick up a take-home craft! This week’s craft is a cute origami elephant: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/14073817574871912/
Tomorrow is our Sedgwick County Zoo program! You can join us at either 9:30am or 11:00am in the park behind the library. You will want to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. If it is raining, the program will be done virtually and you will be able to watch it online. Make sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates! https://www.facebook.com/MulvanePublicLibrary
