Monsters & Witches
Happy Wednesday!!
Monsters & Witches
Today we talked about Monsters and Witches! The books we read were super fun and not scary! It was a great way to introduce monsters and witches to young ones without them being afraid.
Books:
We read: The Witch with a Twitch by Layn Marlow and Alfred’s Book of Monsters by Sam Streed. Both were super cute and helped us get in the mood for Halloween! In Witch with a Twitch, Willa the Witch is afraid of lots of things, instead of her scaring others. Her cat isn’t quite sure what he thinks about that. Whenever she gets scared, crazy things happen, and usually happen to her cat. So her cat decides to go off on his own, but then gets lost out at sea! Willa puts on a brave face and is able to rescue her cat and not be scared any more.
Songs:
Monster Pokey
You put your claws in,
You put your claws out,
You put your claws in and you shake them all about.
You do the Monster Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That’s what it’s all about.
You put your fangs in,
You put your fangs out,
You put your fangs in and you shake them all about.
You do the Monster Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That’s what it’s all about.
You put your horns in,
You put your horns out,
You put your horns in and you shake them all about.
You do the Monster Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That’s what it’s all about.
You put your tail in,
You put your tail out,
You put your tail in and you shake them all about.
You do the Monster Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That’s what it’s all about.
The Noisy Monster Song
(Tune: Here we go round the mulberry bush)
This is the way a monster goes
He has big feet,
And furry toes.
He stamps a lot,
His feet go bang,
And when he smiles,
He shows his fangs!
This is the way a monster goes,
With goggly eyes and a
Very big nost!
With spiky horns and
Big sharp claws,
And terrible breath
Whenever he roars!
