Owls
Happy Wednesday friends! It is a bright, sunny, brisk day today! Make sure to bundle up if you go outside!
Owls
Today’s theme was all about owls. We talked about how owls are nocturnal animals and how that means that they stay awake at night and sleep during the day.
Books:
Today we read: Oola, the Owl Who Lost Her Hoot! By Tim Bugbird and Hoot Owl: Master of Disguise by Sean Taylor. Oola is a story about an owl who loses her hoot and goes in search of it. On her journey, she finds a mouse, a frog, a grasshopper, and a duck who have not found her hoot. Then she hears something hooting in a tree and finds a big, brown owl who helps her find her hoot. In Hoot Owl, the owl is very hungry and puts on different disguises to try to capture different animals to eat for his dinner, but is unsuccessful. In the end, he is able to capture a pepperoni pizza and appease his appetite.
Songs:
Hoot Hoot
Hoot, hoot went the little brown owl one day
Hoot, hoot went the little brown owl
Hoot, hoot went the little brown owl one day
And they all went hoot, hoot, hoot
But…
We know owl goes (clap) la de la de la
La de la de la, la de la de la,
We know owl goes (clap) la de la de la
They don’t go hoot, hoot, hoot.
Jump, jump went the little red squirrel one day
Jump, jump went the little red squirrel.
Jump, jump went the little red squirrel one day
And they all went jump, jump, jump.
But…
We know squirrels go rub a dub a dub
Rub a dub a dub, rub a dub a dub
We know squirrels go rub a dub a dub
They don’t go jump, jump, jump.
