Happy Wednesday and Merry Christmas! We are two days away from Christmas and I am very much in the spirit! Even though this year has been difficult, not what we could ever have imagined, and a huge transition, hopefully there have been some blessings in your life this year that you can reflect on. Typically I am not in the mood or spirit of Christmas until a week or two before the holiday, but this year, I figured we needed some Christmas cheer, so I’ve been listening to Christmas music since before Thanksgiving and we’ve had the tree up for almost a month now, and I don’t regret it at all!
Books:
Today we read: Dinosaur Christmas by Jerry Pallotta and The 12 Days of Christmas by Greg Pizzoli. In Dinosaur Christmas, we learned that before reindeer pulled Santa’s sleigh, dinosaurs did, but some of them worked better than others. This is a super cute book for those dinosaur lovers out there! I learned about some new dinos that I had never heard of before! In The 12 Days of Christmas, it went through the typical gifts from the song, but I think the best part was watching the dad/mom elephant get increasingly madder and madder on each page with each new set of animals in their house! Super cute illustrations and a fun scaffolding story where your child can help you tell the story because it builds on itself.
