All About Me
Welcome to our first Preschool Story Time of the Fall 2020 semester! This is a program designed for children ages 3-5 and is full of songs, books, abc’s, and fun! If you missed our Live story time, you can still go back and watch it until August 26. https://www.facebook.com/MulvanePublicLibrary/videos/3064694613580519/
Books:
Today’s theme was All About Me! We read the books: I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont and Be Who You Are by Todd Parr. We talked about how great it is to be exactly who you are and the different things that make you special.
Two other books suggestions to go along with the theme are: The Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Martin and Remarkably You by Pat Zietlow Miller.
Songs:
We did a chant called This Is Me:
This is me
From my head to my toes
I have two eyes and a little nose
I can clap my hands
And stomp my feet
From my head to my toes
I’m pretty neat
And sang the song I Am Special to the tune of “Are You Sleeping?”
I am special, I am special
If you look, you will see
Someone very special
Someone very special
That is me, that is me!
Activities:
We also talked about the letter A. We discussed what it looks like, how to draw it, what sounds it makes, and words that start with it. Here are some resources for you to try at home to continue the learning about the letter A.
