We are starting to provide a weekly early childhood play group, with a different theme/objective each week. A chance for young children (birth-age 5) to play, learn, and grow together. An opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet each other and learn new ways to encourage and interact with their children. All caregivers welcome!
We are looking forward to continuing our cooking classes in the new year! We have lots of exciting news to share.
First, we want to send a GIANT THANK YOU to Derby Walmart’s Neighborhood Market #3155! They donated money to help support food and other tool costs for our classes. If you stop in the store be sure to let them know how much we appreciate their generosity and supporting our community!
We have our spring classes lined up and you are welcome to start signing up for 
them on January 8th at 5:30 pm.
Our classes include a Pressure Pot Cooking Class with the Sedgwick County Extension Center, a 20 Minutes Skillet Dinner Class with Beautiful Day Cafe, and Peruvian Cuisine with Gabby’s Peruvian Restaurant.
We are changing how we sign up for classes, you will be able to sign up for one active cooking spot for one of these classes, and then you can sign up for our watch list on the other two classes if you like. When you are on the watch list you can watch the class, meet the chef, and get the recipe. It will also serve as a waiting list, and you will get a call if you get bumped up. This is so we can let more people have the opportunity to do the hands on cooking experience! Thanks again to our awesome chefs that are donating their time to teach us how to cook amazing meals, and to Cargill and Dillons for being our sponsors for these classes!

Mommy and Me is the first Monday of the month at 10:30 AM. Moms and their little ones (ages 0-3) come to the library, the kids play with toys and the moms talk about the book. Our next meeting is Monday, January 6th. If you haven’t read it, don’t worry! Stop on in and meet the group!
Books with Bite is the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm and is adults only. This book club meets at different restaurants around town. We eat, talk, and then talk about the book. It is always a great time! This month we are meeting Thursday, January 9th at Amy’s Pizza! We hope you can stop by!
Fiction and Friends is the 4th Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm and is adults only. This book club meets at the library to discuss. This is a great group of people that love reading! Our next meeting is, Thursday, January 23rd.
