Teen Chalk Art Contest October 8-9th! Teens in grades 6 – 12 can sign up to draw in a Library sidewalk square. The theme is Disney, and the teen will have 1.5 days to complete their drawing. Chalk will be provided by the Library. The winner of the contest will receive a prize! Hey Teens! This month is all about Disney! We have a lot of other great events happening this month too! Be sure to stop by and attend! Most of these activities are for teens in grades 6 -12.
October 6th: Teen Scene at 3:30 pm – Raya Dragon Eyes. Using pastel chalk and origami, we are making dragon eyes!
October 8-9th: Chalk Walk contest! You will be assigned a square and you can draw your Disney-themed masterpiece right outside the library! Registration is required.
October 13th: We are making Tiana’s Beignets! These scrumptious treats are a Louisiana favorite!
October 15th: Outdoor Movie Night! We are watching Us (PG-13). The library will provide popcorn and you just need to bring chairs or blankets to sit and watch. This movie is open to the public, but this movie is more appropriate for older teens and adults. The movie starts at 7:30 pm!
October 20th: Merida’s target practice! We will be taking this teen scene outside and shooting some bows and arrows.
October 27th: Disney’s Villain’s Ball. Come dress up at your favorite Disney Villain. We will have treats, crafts, & games. We will also watch Cruella starting at 4:30 pm.
Private Chef Eric will be at the library to do a cooking demonstration! He will be teaching us how to make a basic pan sauce using simple sauté techniques such as searing, deglazing and flambé. This method is done in 1 pan and versatile for many different dishes. A must have in your cooking arsenal to elevate your cooking skills. The sauce he will be demonstrating is a red wine mushroom sauce.
